This here is my chronicle on my interesting aberration and all things related -- ups, downs and the in-betweens.

Bipolar Mood (a.k.a. Manic-Depressive Condition)

It refers to a chemical imbalance that causes extreme shifts in emotion and energy.

It's in my genes; I WAS BORN WITH IT.
It didn't "happen". I've always been bipolar.

It's commonly classified as a "psychological disorder", but it technically isn't one. More accurately, it's a biological condition, i.e., something like a physical birth defect that causes an uneven distribution of brain-chemicals.

It is NOT an illness. It has no cure, and it doesn't have to be cured.

It does NOT affect logic, intelligence or memory.

Bipolars aren't crazy; in fact, we tend to be brilliant, multi-talented, and genius-prone.

The shifts (called "episodes") may affect my disposition and thought patterns, which may in turn affect my behavior. This behavior is not necessarily an indication of my character or attitude; a lot of the time, it's a symptom of the imbalance. For more info about the condition, see this article.

The effects are not always negative - the episodes can bring about great amounts of creativity, intelligence and focus. As a matter of fact, bipolar mood has been observed in many remarkable people throughout history. (Read about famous bipolars HERE).

this little blogging project is brought to you by :

a wyckid but brilliance-inducing chemical imbalance | a hyperactive intelligence quotient | a mellifluous conscience | a liquid imagination | handy-dandy yellow pills | a stowable ptolemeic weltanschauung | an occasional death wish

No animals were harmed in this production, though a few sad brain cells may have committed suicide, particularly during the inception.
