After all my usual summer activities and causes-for-busy-ness, I say hola to a whole new project that's fresh at every level. I just recently sat in at the first general meeting of that little production I'll be involved in. It's a rehash of the Joseph The Dreamer musical - we'll be updating it a bit and amping it up for a 2009 crowd. The play will actually be a fundraiser for our new church building; we're aiming to rake in a million, so we'll be charging around Php 2000 per ticket. I hope we do a good job and give people their money's worth. It's a challenge, I tellya. I'm quite excited about the whole thing.
I haven't actually done it before but have been wanting to, and I can imagine myself totally rocking at it. I am after all a dreamer too. Wink, wink.
I, by the way, am Lead Director. Been staying up late the past few days thinking up edits for the script. I really had a hard time getting to sleep; floating, spiking on the sea of elevation. Like I said, I'm excited. I just finished editing the first act this afternoon, so i hope that'll leave me to catch some z's tonight. I scrapped some of the very dated 70's-ish songs and put in some new music, even some pop songs, so it's sort of a jukebox musical now. I even sneaked in an old E'heads hit in there, hee hee. Still waiting to hear from my [ahem] team of researchers [i.e., young, musically updated individuals, a.k.a. teenagers] for some more recent tunes.
Anyway. Excited. I hope our little play turns out magnificently.
